I've just got back from Quidditch practice, which is most unfortunate, as I hate practising on Saturdays. And why were we practising on a Saturday, you ask? We were due to hold it yesterday afternoon, after the Gryffindors, of course, since the rule is First Suck Up First Serve, but the Gryffindors were bloody late getting off of the pitch. As though any amount of practice is going to help them win any games. Evidently, though, they've realised how horrendous their skills are, because we had to wait until they were done squeezing as much practice as possible in.
Naturally, I had it out with that Gryffindor captain, Landgreen, who seemed to think he was fully in his right extending practice. And why? Because the Gryffindor Seeker was late to practice. How rich.
Fortunately, or what I thought was fortunate at the time, Professor Snape was made aware of what was going on, so surely one would think that Potter was going to get an earful about it. After all, it is hardly good form to make the Slytherins wait to practise when we had the pitch quite legally reserved. Professor Snape did, of course, come down on Potter for it, but it seems I forgot one technicality:
I still had yet to receive my Isolate Potter detention. In fact, I was the last student in the castle who hadn't. Naturally, I assumed Professor Snape had long ago realised the absurdity of my serving detention on Potter's behalf, but no. As it turns out, until now, Potter hadn't done anything worth giving me detention for.
Words cannot express what a sodding outrage it is that I've been assigned detention on Potter's behalf. As though Potter is going to learn anything from it! If anything, he's probably regretting he hadn't done something even worse just to let me take the punishment. And why should I have to serve detention at seven o'clock in the morning tomorrow because POTTER was late?!
I intend to write to My Father about this immediately. In fact, I may just make an appointment with the headmaster, though I doubt the coot will listen to a word I have to say. I've already had one appointment with Dumbledore, and all he did was offer me sweets, when I was trying to alert him of the fact that his staff was unjust. The man is absolutely daft, and a sadist to boot.
I've no idea what my detention is, but since Professor Snape is assigning it, I'm fairly certain that it will only be a matter of writing lines or something like that. Certainly a Malfoy shouldn't have to serve any sort of menial labour owing to Potter. Professor Snape is a brilliant man, of course. He knows that.
However, now that Potter has managed to get me a detention, I'd suggest that the Gryffindors make sure everyone's safe in their beds this evening. Just a word of advice.
