I was tentatively hopeful that there would be no students left behind over the holidays. However, that was not to be. I already know of a couple of Hufflepuffs that have signed on to stay. There goes my anticipated blowout in Knockturn Alley.
Have I ever said that sometimes I resent being a teacher?
Perhaps the Isolate Potter plan may have been a bit extreme, but it did get the desired results. I've not heard of a recent incident where Potter has broken curfew, missed his exams or been remotely tardy to any of his classes. His marks have improved and he's been less Potterlike. So, I'm going to toast myself on a job well done.
Of course, I have to admit finding minimal amusement at
Mr Weasley's little poll. I find the idea of any Slytherin students willfully attending a Gryffindor soiree to be laughable in the extreme. Weasley thought it was very clever to only have "No" as an answer. I'm sure most of Slytherin was absolutely gutted. "What? We're not invited? Say it isn't so!"
In other disturbing news,
Xiomara has been awfully quiet. I wonder what she'll pull out of her time capsule this time. I honestly don't think I have anything else to hide, but knowing her, she hasn't really shown her ace of spades. I'm not exhaling quite yet.
I felt a slight twinge when I sat down next to Black at breakfast this morning, enough for me to think twice about my situation. However Sylvia showed up and it went away - which leads me to believe that it was merely indigestion.
