I may be deaf, I am starting to wonder, but I found this great band called Atomtrakt. However, they are considered as black metal/industrial/dark ambience. Can anybody explain to me, how exactly are they considered as black metal in any way? To be honest, other than the atmospheres and imagery, it doesn't sound very black metal at all, but more so

I just went and had a listen to it, and i agree, unless the 2 myspaz tracks are atypical of their sounds, the words blackmetal would certainly not even come close to coming to mind if i was asked to describe it. Martial, Atmospheric, Doomy ambient, sure.

I knew it wasn't black metal, but I started to ponder whether black metal had made this strange electronic/synth evolution in some part of the world, and perhaps that was the new "black"! :P And just happened to come to the same point as industrial hehe. The two tracks you heard are typical of their music, not atypical. I downloaded most of their stuff a little while back, but only really realised today that they even consider themselves black metal. Strange indeed! Though I really think they are quite good, nonetheless.
