You come to a point in your life where you think to yourself "Are my favourite bands REALLY my favourite bands? What musical act do I find myself indulging in the most for the last couple of years? Let's face reality." Ulver happens to be one of those acts that for some reason I have never considered as one of my top 5 bands, but really they are. I ( Read more... )

I have started downloading it via torrent, but I don't know if any of the peers have gone onto the computer that were previously not there.

Regarding the humongous shirt....

It states in the Terms and Conditions; "We list brand-new-in-stock items; if you want a size not shown, contact us before purchasing". That sounds quite promising to me! :)

So, how does the rest of the album sound?

the album is good. Less bombastic and more calculated than blood inside. Not mellow, but mellower. I've still only listened to it a couple of times, so hopefully its a grower like their fav's of mine are :D (Nattens, Themes From.. and Blood inside being my 3 most favvvvorite.)

As for mailing the band. Tops idea. But i have no idea how. I also have no idea how to contact ppl who sell stuff on ebay :)? I've only used ebay once or twice maybe.

I think my favourites are Bergtatt, Themes.., Perdition City and Blood Inside. Nattens is very good too, but I find myself not listening to it as much as Bergtatt. Looking forward to listening to the new one.

Why don't you email Jester Records? Doesn't Garm own that?
And as for emailing ebay sellers... it is simple. On the top right hand of the webpage, you click "Ask seller a question." That mails them.

I also want that marriage symbol, for its symbolic content, not band fanboyism, inside an Orouborous on my back. But i cant find a good size version of the cross symbol. If i cant ever get this shirt, and i know this sounds weird, can i photocopy tyhat part of yours please :)?

Awww.. I had a thought last night to get that tattooed on my leg amongst and intertwined within another design, but not their one in particular. That symbol predates them of course. But yes, do eet! It isn't a serious thought with me at this point, just an idea, and even if the idea transformed into action, it wouldn't be the same.

Yes, of course you can photocopy that part, but I am sure we can figure out how to get a better version of that symbol in digital format which would then print on paper. Why don't you ask Ulver themselves if they have any good quality prints of it so you can tattoo it?

Actually, I should rephrase some things. I have thought about tattooing it many a times, but it has nothing to do with Ulver, because it didn't even really click in the past that they use it. What concerns me and has put me off time and time again as that it is a symbol regularly used by Neo-Nazis and The Church of Satan as well. I don't like either group, though I prefer COS over the white power regime. I suppose I don't want to be misrepresented. I like it as it honestly only clicked last night that that symbol, for some odd reason, is really stuck in my un/conscious, so I want to look into why, thus feeling like it may be a more personal symbol to me, but never really wanted to admit that before. I have some stupid fears.

Let people misinterpret it! All the more fool them :)

I pretty much eventually intend to peice together a quasi-religious/theological symbolic map interspersed with personal peices/importances accross my body. Religion/theology/philosophy have always been at the heart of what drives me in a psychological/personal sense, so makes sense!
