Holland
Over the summer I went to Holland to celebrate my birthday & to see my boyfriend (he's there playing pro baseball til October)...
Here's a little summary of my trip, complete with pics...
Tuesday May 30,2006:
I arrived in Holland. It felt soo good to see Tyler again :)
The first thing I noticed was all the pretty graffiti...
This is het huis...the house we stayed in (in Apeldoorn).
Wednesday May 31, 2006:
My 20the Birthday! (damn that seems old)
We went to a really good bakery & then walked to the apenhaul (ape house).
Then after a short nap, we went to a really fancy french restaurant...the food wasn't anything extra special though :\
We finished the night off at a couple of bars in downtown Apeldoorn.

We went to the Palace Het Loo.

Friday June 2, 2006:
We took a train to Deventer...
All over Holland, there are public urinals that rise out of the ground.
We walked into what we thought was gonna be a normal park...but there were so many animals...
Then we ate at a VERY good restaurant...
Saturday June 3, 2006:
We went to Haakesbergen for a Zulu Nation hip hop festival...the annual Block Jam.
lots of graffiti...
drinkin age is 16...but I don't think this boy is 16 yet...
Sunday June 4, 2006:
Tyler & I saw Scary Movie 4 in the movie theatres...the movie theaters in Holland are a LOT smaller than the ones here in the states.
Went to Kokkie's restaurant...good dutch food.
Monday June 5, 2006:
We took a train to Amsterdam & stayed in the Quentin hotel...
had some Indonesian food at a restaurant...
took a stroll up & down the Red Light District...
Then we went to the Absinthe bar...which was a complete disappointment :\
(we didn't hallucinate & we drank A LOT)
the taste was nasty as u can see by tyler's thizz face...
we got bored so we started playin with the camera settings...
so many different kinds of absinthe to choose from...all a big disappointment.
After we got tired of trying to get absinthe to work for us, we went to a club called Amsterdammed...
where no one in the club knew how to dance...& the bartenders don't know any mixed drink...
most people just drink beer (biertche) i guess...The clubs in holland also like playing a lot of old songs...
which can be cool sometimes, but when they started playin "Who Let the Dogs Out," tyler & I knew we had to leave...
So we went to another club called La Rumba...I liked that crowd better...There was a little bit more dancing than in Amsterdammed.
Tuesday June 6, 2006:
We decided that this day would be our "high day."
We started off with breakfast at Barney's, a place that serves a joint before the actual meal.
Thought some education would be good for us so we went to Cannabis College (basically, a weed museum).
We went to Abraxas for hash smoothies (amazingly delicious) & weed brownies.
Then we went to the Van Gogh museum which was also amazing...finally being able to see the paintings that we always see in books in real life.
After a good Italian restaurant dinner, we finished the day off with 4 orders of Australian ice cream & waffles (yeah, we were hungry).
Wednesday June 7, 2006:
Woke up early to see the Anne Frank house.
We took a very peaceful canal cruise.
& went to the Sex Museum.
Then walked around Amsterdam souvenir shopping & hopped on a train back to Apeldoorn.
Thursday June 8, 2006:
Tyler took me to the airport for my flight back home :(
but i was strong...i didn't cry! so freakin hard, but I held it in & that's a definite first for me.
