Just in case you were wondering where I was and missing me - wait, you were missing me, right? Right?!

I took two weeks off from the LJ Idol writing contest and have been all but MIA. I had a doozy of a sinus infection, a fever of 102, and ended up on antibiotics and flat on my patooty in bed for days.

Here's the thing. You know when you feel like crap, and you wonder how long it'll take until you feel like a human bean again? And then there's that moment when you're suddenly aware that hey, I don't feel like crap anymore!
Yeah, that.

Trust me, I can be miserable with the best of 'em, joebanks! Why, just today at lunch with a friend I was pissing and moaning about my two brothers and my mom's 80th birthday this summer and how neither brother wants to budge on dates they can visit and I'm supposed to wave a magic wand and make it all work out for everyone. Which I'll somehow do, but I'll do my share of grumbling.

But for now, I'm just happy to be back here.

No worries, I'm more than halfway through the antibiotic and feeling so much more like myself. Amazing, what the ability to breathe does for a person!

When you start to notice that the sheets are really disgusting, and then you notice that you haven't brushed your teeth in a week and can't bear to be around yourself any more... you're on the mend.
