This was gorgeous! It's such a pleasure to see Amanda and Sarek both being so strong, so devoted to each other and their family. I particularly loved Amanda finding herself in the society and the showdown with T'Pau.
> T’pau would have seemed made of stone. But one had to remember that stone was often carved from the inside out.
Why, how utterly kind of you! I really think that in this Reboot verse she would have had, so when the rejection occurred, it did not hurt her as much.
And yes, T'pau has a lot under that surface. Being a Matriarch would mean that she would have bury alot yet sometimes things escape....
Oh, thank you! How kind! I look at it as being bittersweet, really. Amanda has her little family and her funk Vulcan friends, but Sarek has to face criticism and her son rejection, and that hurts.
Good for Sarek! Standing up for his (own) family, as he should! I love Sarek and Amanda here. She is so resourceful and a real survivor. ...I wonder if this alternate timeline--with Sarek being more laid back--is what enabled Spock to grow up into someone who could have a loving romantic relationship with Uhura?

Weird that you mention that- I talk about this down on my posts from a day or two ago. I think that it's not so much Sarek is more relaxed, per se as much as Amanda is more assertive here in this timeline. And frankly, I really think having a confident, present mother does let a man have a romantic relationship with respect and warmth. I want to compare and contrast that with SpockPrime who does not have the confidence, really, to extend himself that until after his death and resurrection.
Love love love that Amanda and Sarek built their own clan out of all the outcasts of society. If you were up to exploring that side of things a bit more, I know I wouldn't mind. ;) Either way, a great fic.
Thank you so much! But think about it- the both of them are marrying aliens, and having a family and pretty much doing what ever the f*** they wanna do. While looking entirely respectable, of course!
This was such an interesting take on Amanda! I really liked seeing her with an actually life, as opposed to being stuck in the role of "Sarek's wife" or "Spock's mom" like she usually is
I think Amanda would need to have her own life- before her child comes and after he runs off to Starfleet. Thing is, Spock is so confident in his abilities, almost to the point of arrogance, in Reboot and ha can only come from a confident mother *and* an openly accepting father, which TOS!Spock, as awesome as he is, simply did not have so early in his life.

Best description of the Vulcan matron ever!
Brava, my dear!
