I think if anything, we should be attentive to the feel of the "aethyr" when the thing starts. It's bound to create some ripples. Hell, an experimental individual should perhaps think of what kind of magick would be good to do in such an event.

Excellent idea, although I realize that the time in Switzerland is six hours ahead of us, so that must be taken into account with timing of any "aetheric" experiments. Perhaps re-enacting such an enormous event from the deep past will lend itself to wild portents of the future? I wonder if it will recreate the magnificent snorting, spraying sound that would have been heard if the "big snarf" theory is correct?

Personally if I wasn't occupied with other ventures, I would seriously be considering something to do when the thing goes off. However, as soon as it goes off it's not going to stop. So you could probably do whatever you wanted from that point onward. Seriously dear, think about it. You seem fond of spontaneous improvised magical work. I'd like to see what you come up with.
