33 Apocalypse Ave., Saturday Noon-ish

For whatever reason -- maybe it was the new kid who was boarding with him, or maybe he was just bored -- Jack made an actual breakfast this morning. Well, more or less. He scrambled a pile of eggs, and popped some waffles in the toaster.

Paige had been up for a while, but she wandered down to the kitchen to get some more coffee and smiled. "Oh, is breakfast included in the rent?" she joked.

There was possibly much exaggeration in the way that Jon checked his phone. "Nope. Nada. Didn't get anything. Just like I don't get why we let Daniel out of his office. Like, ever."

Jack sighed. "We let him out of his office because if he STAYED there, he'd start doing something completely useless and be fascinated by it for MONTHS."

He shrugged. "Anyway, I called to see if you and Claire wanted to go out for a late Christmas dinner sometime. You can say no. Now, it's your turn -- if you DIDN'T get my message, why are you interrupting my breakfast?"
