Can anybody your size be a "light" fighter?. :)

And the reporter you mentioned - if he's in his 60s, there's a good chance that he actually IS a 70s veteran war zone reporter...

I'm starting to wonder why its called light. The rapier i'm using now is heaver then my rattan one handed. I have to keep it in a high guard with it pointing forward and my arm almost fully extended. My right shoulder is screaming after the 2 to 3 hour practices, three times a week. I may have to bite the bullet and start going to one of the three free gyms here....

To be honest about the reporter I'd rather see some one next to retirement doing there last kick at the can who biggest risk is bing a bit too honest with nothing to lose verses a bunch of overly dramatic newbies trying to make a name for them selves as with here death this is now officially a dangerous assignment. RANT ALERT :)

"Light" and "Heavy" are slang terms imported from the southern U.S. We try to discourage their usage here, the prefered terms being "Rapier" and "Armoured" Combat.

I've also heard them refer to Armoured Combat as "Hard Suit", which I find particularly loathsome.
