My stepdad met elliott smith once or twice

he said that he had a rather sad disposition, or he said that he was a nice guy but he didn't know about the shit that he was mixed up in... I can't really remember. I used to listen to him a lot freshman year. I found him while looking for a song with my girlfriend/romantic interest's name.

Did he really!? Oh man that is so neat. Whenever I listen to him I feel like the music is in my head; like he's a ghost letting me hear it or something. I don't know how to describe it, but I like it because on those nights when I'm alone (not lonely, just alone) he serves as a voice from somewhere far away, and there's something lovely and maudlin about being kept company by it.

Not to sound all crazy or anything...
