I've seen my share of explosions over the years, but I'll admit that one was quite a display. But once the lasts of the shocks die down there's still a lingering question.
With the prison vanished, what will the effects on crime be? After all, there's no real place to keep those who might warrant such a thing anymore.
The deities claimed that it didn't work, but I have my doubts...like you said, where will we keep criminals? Are they adopting a policy now of 'shoot first, ask questions later'? That's absurd -- we had justice here,or a semblance of it. They can't impose such a rule upon us. What about the police? Will they still exist? And what will become of them, if they have nowhere to put those they catch?
Such a policy could easily backfire. All it would take is one innocent wrongly shot down before the city itself would raise against those who held the gun, be it deity or police man.
As for the police, they may shortly find themselves either needing to come up with a new place to hold dangerous persons or needing to rethink their strategies.

I don't know what will happen now, but... we could always organize our own prison somewhere? I wonder how that would work out.

And I suppose we could...

It just takes some time, thinking and work.

We'd have to come up with the space first, I'd think.
