First of all, I missed the first fifteen minutes of the episode. I totally forgot SCC was on tonight, and my own mother had to remind me.
But from what I did see, this was a freakin' awesome episode! I missed Cameron going evil, but that wasn't hard to figure out. And I have to thank the writers for not dragging that out for a bunch of episodes, using the premise in only one episode and then continuing the point later in the season is more than alight with me. I figured that they would bring up Cameron's origins and the possibility of her reverting back in finer detail, and this did not disappoint. (That 'Why would you need to fix me?' from the trailer was way cool.)
And I have to confess dear flist (or whoever actually reads this) that I am a John/Cameron shipper. I can't help it!! It has all the right amounts of angst and forbidden nature that my sadistic side cannot help it. And since I admit that, yeah I was making all kinds of funny faces when evil!Cameron was yelling 'I LOVE YOU' to John in an effort to save her own skin. Yeah, I know robots cannot love and that she was just doing that to push John's buttons but it was all kinds of heart wrenching. It's sad that it made my little shipper heart happy, and I pretty much figure that it's all we're going to get this season on that subject but I can live with that.
On the subject of John... Oh John, you finally hit that point. He loves his mother, respects his mother, but it seems that it's finally time for him to grow up. And poor Sarah, she's spent his entire life getting him ready for this moment and she just can't let go. That's no surprise, because even though he's to be the savior of humanity he's still her son and always will be. And when he went aganist everyone putting the chip back into Cameron, that look was so future!John. YAY!
I look forward to the transformation of John in this season, all the steps he takes to become the man that is to save humanity. It's one thing to know that he gets there, it's another to actually see it.
All in all, I welcome the new season with open arms. I was worried that they weren't going to renew it, and this episode speaks volumes that it was a good choice that they did. Here's to an awesome season people!!
