Awards and Rent review.

Firstly, I won an award at the Uwharrie Players banquet. "Favorite Character Performance" :-P Unfortunately I was unable to make it to the actual awards because I was working sound for Omnium Gatherum. Such is life, I win something and I miss my moment in the spotlight :-P ( Read more... )

1. Congrats! John Stafford got your plaque, and said that he lived closer to you than anyone, so you need to get it from him, it bugs me when the players pay for plaques, and then they get stuck somewhere and never given to the person. Because, we all need more awards!!

2. Um, why did you waste money on tickets for RENT? It's RENT. That should be a reason in itself. It's one of the top 5 worst musicals ever written. Just my .02.

RENT is one of the best musicals ever written as long as it is done well. If someone walked out of that performance and it was the only time they'd seen it I wouldn't blame them for hating it.

The only cure for Rentphobia is to see a great performance of it.

From my experience yesterday, this may be tough.

Oh, and I got my award from John. Thanks for the heads up ;-)

I really wish I could have been there but I was working sound for a local community theatre company here.
