Shaving with a cut-throat.
Apr 09, 2008 19:15
I just shaved with a cut-throat which I believe is over 100 years old. It was awesome :-D

The getting there.
It's probably the smoothest and least irritable shave i've ever had. No razor-burn, zero, none, nada. Also, no ingrowns.
It is a bit scary tho :-D Tracy refused to watch.

No, I didn't practice. I learned by watching a video and getting advice from

You're a braver man than I. Never fancied trying a cut-throat myself.

It's actually pretty smooth although scary (it was the first time after all).
The best advice I got was "Don't stop". If you stop, the blade has a tendancy to go sideways. If that happens you get a 2" -> 3" long "smile"
