Spiders.

I thought maybe I would step from this thought to that thought, or wander down the path.. it's a lovely thought in all its idealism, but in reality Im not sure I have enough concerted effort (or something to that effect) to carry it on through - I ended up reading bits and pieces of the old journal which is not so much bittersweet as its at such a ( Read more... )

I was honestly going to just skim right over this post as soon as I saw "Spiders" out of fear of finding myself looking at pictures of the disgusting little things.

But I'm glad I braved it and read the entry =)
I was really curious to see where you were going with the second one, one reason being I'd never heard the expression "God can be on both sides of the gun," the second being that religion is always a touchy but interesting subject. Will you re-visit this prompt again in the future?

Your words may not align with your original intentions, but they still manage to captivate me. I bet a lot of alluring writing is unintentional; the author was writing in a way that felt natural. For me, the natural tends to be magical and mysterious, despite the fact that it's natural. Maybe part of the human condition involves shifting away from the natural and more towards artificial creation.... maybe.

But anyways, you have this uncanny ability to give character to every one of your words. Your words seem to transcend the typical literary role of piecing together an idea much larger than one word can ever convey. They awaken and dance. I'm not merely reading; I'm experiencing.

It is always interesting to me in that I never really like the things I write, spin or blather on about.. well the ratio is probably 85% dislike you get?

Its not so much a dislike as its it doesn't strive for what my head wants it too, and the interest is how others' percieve the words I put down, I wonder what exactly it is they see that I fail to see.

But thankyou for such kind, lovely sentiments, it is truly flattering. :)

I think as authors of our own work, it's hard to step out of "harsh critic" mode.

If I say that does it imply the rest isn't liked? I hope not. It's like poetry :-)

LOL, no, not in the least - Im pretty harsh of the things I write so I am always appreciative of those who actually like it :)

Hehe Yeah, I'm the same. It is extremely hard to work out if the writing is good, when you're the one who wrote it.

I'm also an editor, so I know both sides of the fence.

“God can be on both sides of the gun”

I LOVE this.

Now I have to eat some colourful lollies and listen to loud music to stop my brain philosophizing... I recently had a heated discussion on capitalism that's already filled this year's thinking quota, hahaha!

I'm envious that you're able to write like this, though. Just be prompted and write, even if it's taxing. My brain spews a bunch of nonsense and occasionally there'll be something lovely or profound. Okay, more rarely than occasionally!

I think its certainly a great one too!

I miss conversations about philosophy - there was an LJ user here who I used to have these conversations about various philosophers and notions etc years ago.. it was so good!

I miss that really I truly do.
