First Sin of Avarice. (Audio.)

(There's the usual sound of the overhead comm system coming on-line followed by several loud taps.)

What is this thing?

The Hell!  Some kind of broadcast...thing?

(A few loud thumps sound as well, not unlike what happens when you tap a microphone.)

Ah.  Excellent.  Now, I assume that there are people here, and that at least one of you can hear me.  ( Read more... )

Gods damned bloody hell!!! What the hell is the captain thinking, bring you here?
{mumbled} at least it's not the Major General..

This is the Elegante, heading to some mythical 'Golden Shore'. People use 'magic' here, not Alchemy, and my powers have pretty much gotten cut in half. Apparently people can also be brought back from the dead, don't ask me how that works.

Heh, bet you ain't half as strong as you were~

Elegante, huh? Nice name. (Pause) Nice boat. Think I'll come back and claim this boat after everything else is taken care of.

And as for strength, twerp, my arm's still long enough to hold you at bay, or carry you around like a bloody kitten.

(And there's the smirk in his voice) And I still have my power. Now...(A dangerous purr enters his voice) Where can I find this Captain you mentioned?

Do you really? There are no countries on this ship and escape seems to happen unintentionally, though you may satisfy your need to kill with the current invasion.

See, that's part of my problem: No countries on this ship. Kinda small, really. Though I suppose I could turn this ship into my capital when I rule the world...

And what invasion?

As much as it would please me to see the captain defeated, I sincerely doubt his downfall will come about by the likes of a passenger.

The horde of pirates that hold the ship under siege. The monsters have proven to be more difficult to kill than the average man, but it has been advised to aim for their heads, and you should probably stay out of their reach. They are very strong, and quite fast.

A passanger? What about several? I've already got one subordinate here. Shouldn't be too hard to gain more with the amount of warm fuzzy feelings you all seem to hold for this man the captain.

And a horde of monster pirates? Really... Well, I can't let them sink my future ship, so thanks for the advice about aiming. And it's not me who needs to worry about staying out of their grip, it's them who need to worry about staying out of mine.

You're on a boat because the Captain wanted you to be. Voila. Or something.

You're on a boat with the rest of us, there's no way out. Yet.
Kill the zombie-humanoid things. I can explain more about my plans later.

Zombie-humanoid things. Right. Well, killing them sounds good at the moment. And yes, you will explain more about plans. A lot more.
