Yes, I'm easily fascinated. Why do you ask?

The City of London museum has been updated to include the Victorian era, so it's much more thorough now!

Y'know what's odd about England (and I'm leaving aside ALL the MULTITUDES of things that my Scottish heritage would answer in response to that :-) ) is that, despite their birthing the modern battleship, they preserved no capital ship from EITHER great upheaval of the 20th Century, while the US is comparatively lousy with the things. Really, chaps, a cruiser is the best you could manage to hang onto? :-)

First, this is a list of things to do in London and not England or the UK. Second, it's London! River? yes. Giant port? not so much. Go to one of the big naval cities if you want to see museum-ships.

I understand that. I was just making a side comment in light of my history geekness, that it's curious how, given how much the battleship influenced English history at the start of the last century, that HMS Belfast is the heaviest ship that England has preserved. :)

There is a replica of the Golden Hind in London. It's not far from Borough Market. http://www.goldenhinde.com/
If it was full size, it was extremely small for sailing across the world. I would not want to be there for months.

The Borough Market is definitely worth going if you love farmer's markets and different types of food. I went there and had a great time. I don't think he mentioned the British Museum which is free (except for special exhibits) and has tons of ancient Egyptian, Babylonian/Sumerian and Greek artifacts. Hyde Park is nice to walk through (and simply see if you are an English Country dancer :) ) If you want to see people ranting, you can visit Speaker's Corner at the end. Further along the road along that 'top' side of the Park, there is a Middle Eastern neighborhood with a couple places with outdoor seating where you can get kebobs or shwarmas. You can also see people smoking hookahs full of flavored tobacco. It's not a 'must go' site like a museum, but it's picturesque if you happen to be there when people are around. Leicester Square has several big theatres(theatres not movie theatres) and you can catch major shows like Rent etc. Though the seats are sometimes pricey, you can get discounts sometimes as well.
