I'm not an atheist, but I think that sensible, thoughtful blogging from all sides of a debate helps to create understanding and ease off the attacks. I'd read it.
when we went to see Joss Whedon at Harvard, he was receiving the Cultural Humanism award from Harvard's Humanist Chaplaincy. It was very cool to see the members of that organization speaking as well as Joss. And Whedon himself really kept his speech on the subject of atheism/humanism which was, frankly, refreshing.
I am more agnostic/apathetic toward religion (read: ex-Catholic and DAMN lazy) but Tom is a serious atheist and I know it was a relief to be somewhere that SOMEONE was talking about this openly and without shame (and without sounding like a crazy person).
We get so bombarded with religion every day that I am always happy to find a place that one can take refuge from that.
I'd read that. I support reasonable, rational discussions from all points of view.
Google can be a friend and an enemy, I'm curious if you have considered whether there might be any negative repercussions if current or potential employers/clients were to find your name linked to such a blog.
Yes, I've thought about the business repercussions and I'm going ahead with it. I see plenty of business that don't hide the fact that they are overly Christian, or affiliated with another religion. I don't hide the fact that I'm an atheist. If someone would like to choose another company based on that, then it truly is their choice. With a name like Diablo Sound I already carry a company name that some religious folks are not totally comfortable with.
