He stepped outside to catch a breath of fresh air and very nearly ran into Melchior, who seemed to have the same idea. "Hello, Melchior."

After a second's thought, however, he reconsiders. This isn't just anyone -- this is probably the smartest and most reasonable person he's met in his entire life. Maybe he could benefit from a talk with him. "How are you?"

A second glance at Melchior suggested he might not be especially well, his breathing shorter and sharper than would be characteristic and his expression somehow...off. "Did I disturb you? You seem a bit out of sorts." It was a bit of a leap, but he'd seen Melchior upset several times now, so perhaps not as much of one as it might have been with someone else.

How is it that Melchior always runs into Mohinder when he's troubled? Maybe it's fortunate -- he does always seem to be able to help Melchior. "I have just had a fight with my friend, Moritz." To him that seems shocking without further explanation, considering how rarely he and Moritz fight, but he realized Mohinder wouldn't be in on that bit of information. "I cannot remember the last time we fought like this."
