Tutorial 6 - Emma Watson

Jun 03, 2005 18:28

Making this:
from this:
, by the request of colormered_cons.

I started with this base, taken from a tutorial by rictusempra__ (found here).

Using the Smudge tool, I carefully smoothed bits of the green background to cover all of Rupert's face. It takes a little practice, so make sure you work on a duplicated layer. (If you use the original, you won't have anything to revert to.)

I duplicated the smudged layer and set it to Soft Light at 100.

Merge layers. Then, I duplicated this layer twice, and set both to Screen at 100.

I duplicated the base, brought it to the top, and set it to Soft Light.

I took this gradient by adoralyna; it can be found under her 'Unusual Gradients' pack.

I set it to Lighten Only at 100 % opacity.

Now, I went right to the bottom of the layer stack to the base of Emma. I brought it to the top and set it to Soft Light.

I took this gradient from 000000 to ded09e.

I set it to Screen at 100.

I added a texture brush by icons_with_love on a new layer in white. I set the layer to Soft Light, and erased the bits that covered Emma's face.

On a new layer, I used a soft round brush and smeared white over the background of the picture. (I've shown it here on black so that you can see it properly). I/td>

Setting that to Soft Light, I got this:

I added a text brush by ohpaintbrush, and a scribble brush by teh_indy, and there, I'm done.

Comments are appreciated; feel free to show me what you made.
