Oh gads, Facebook. I joined it because my nephews made an appeal (I can't resist anyone who calls me Auntie K), and I was instantly, completely bewildered by it. First of all, I gave it my email address and it thought about that for a few seconds and then came back and said that YOU were on Facebook, and did I want to add you, or something. HOW DID IT KNOW THAT I KNOW YOU??? It freaked my shit out, and I haven't felt comfortable ever since. Plus, I didn't want to go look at your pictures and prove to Facebook that it was correct about my knowing you. I just didn't want to give it the satisfaction. I'm sort of neurotic stubborn that way. But okay, say I did want to go look at your pics on Facebook. How, exactly, would I do that?
Well, if you used your gmail account to join facebook, I believe facebook looks through your contact list then cross checks the email addresses to see if anyone in facebook has the same email. I list my gmail addy on facebook so that's how it new. I think it's the program trying to be user friendly aka "stalkerfriendly." *grins
