Because I've been asked how do I get the dark sepia colouring on my latest icons, here's a tutorial for it.
Made in Photoshop CS, but I suppose it's fairly easy to translate.

How to go from
to

We're taking a photo we like and crop it so it's all pretty and shiny.

I'm using a pic of lovely Eliza Dushku from her newest photoshoot which I'm in love with cuz it's so pretty hee :)
It's pretty high qualit, so I won't have to do much to improve it, however, I will teach you how to do so in case your pic isn't that shiny.
Duplicate your layer and sharpen it (Filter->Sharpen->Sharpen), once or twice, depending on how blurry your picture is.

This will give better effect on her eyes, lips and hair later on.
Now, desaturate the layer (Image->Adjustements->Desaturate or simple Ctrl+Shift+U)

Set the desaturate layer to Screen.

Now, it's slightly too light for my liking (it may not be so in case of your pic, it all depends on how light it was to begin with)
I merge visible then go to Image->Adjustements->Brightness/Contrast and play with the settings to get what I want.
My settings are -15 +15

Now, her skin is fairly smooth, but not enough for me... I choose Blur Tool, soft round brush, size 10, mode normal, strenght 50% and gently smooth out her skin, avoiding hair, eyes and lips.

Now for the part I like the most.
I choose Burn Tool, size 50, Midtones, 30 and darken her hair to my liking.

Now I change Burn to Dodge, 20, Highlights, 20 and lighten up parts of her hair.

Now, Burn Tool again, size 10, Midtones, 30 and I darken her eyes, lashes and eyelids, then do same with her lips.

Base done, now to the colouring.

This
set on Multiply

This
set to Soft Light

Now, duplicate the base layer and place in on top of the layers.
Desaturate and set it to Soft Light.

Now for the final colouring:
This
set to Colorburn

Now for the text, I use Anglo Text font that can be found on DaFont Here, size 36.

then I use small text brush underneath it.

And done.
