Yes, I know it is early in the season to start talking about holiday suicide, but in Iraq is always a little peace of mind to know that you can blow out a piece of your mind ( Read more... )

Bradley,

Hope everything is holding up for you. I've thought about your question regarding PA school for a while now, and I think it would be something to look into. At first, I would have recommended just going to medical school because I wasn't aware of the autonomy that some PAs have. I'm not sure if they all have to have their orders/diagnoses signed by physicians, but in the past couple months I've met several competent and quite capable PAs who do just about everything a physician does (minus surgery). Do you have any idea what kind of medicine you would be interested in?

I'm currently on my psychiatry clerkship, and there are several PAs who do evening admissions, physical exams, meds/orders, etc. They're great, and a real asset to the healthcare team. In a week, I'll be moving to the violent offender/sexual offender floor of the psych ward. Should be interesting...

Hope this message finds you well. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Andy

All the medicine I know from the Army is emergency medicine, so I would probably lean towards that if I went to school. I did some ER rotations when I was back at Ft Lewis and they seemed okay. I like pediatrics also, but I don't know as much about it. I like the PA idea because they don't always have to deal with malpractice insurance as much. Also, less school as compared to the pay-off at the end. How long do you have in school? How much left?

In the end, I just want to go back to school. I am unhappy with the stupidity in the Army, and I miss learning. Whether it is PA school, Nurse Practicioner (did I spell that right), or research psychology, school is the answer.

So did you catch the bit of East High Trivia that the newest Secretary of Defense (pending confirmation, of course) was an Ace in the days of yore?

Another turning point, a fork stuck in your cock
Time grabs you by the wrist, like a fork stuck in your cock
So make the best of this fork stuck in your cock
It's not a question, but a fork stuck in your cock.

It's something unpredictable, like a fork stuck in your cock
I hope you don't get a fork stuck in your cock.

So take a photograph of the fork stuck in your cock
Hang it on a shelf next to the fork stuck in your cock
Tattoos of memories of the fork stuck in your cock
For what it's worth, there's a fork stuck in your cock

It's something unpredictable, like a fork stuck in your cock
I hope you don't get a fork stuck in your cock.
