... Has been mostly consisting of tearing the central heating apart to make it ready for the winter. A couple of years ago I replaced the old-fashioned boiler for a whizzie new combi one that gives off a decent pressure for showers but I ran out of time to clean out the radiators & replace the thermostatic valves. What sort of boiler do you have? I've got some heavy duty chemical stuff left over for clearing out central heating pipes but it's meant for systems with a tank in the loft.

Don't think that'll work. We have a 3 year old combination boiler which is a closed system. The rads were all cleared out at the installation so they should be good for a while yet. But I suppose it's time to ask the bods that installed it to come and do a service. They said every three years and it's about that time. But thanks for the offer - I was just joking though!
