Seaside - [ locked to Midnight ]

The sun was setting, giving the water a rich blue color. The crowds on the beach were thinning out but Vesper didn't move from his spot.

He was waiting for Midnight. Even though they lived together, they didn't see much of each other. Not as much as you might think for roommates. After chatting a little in the Nexus, the decided to make more ( Read more... )

It may have taken a little while, but before the sun was completely set Midnight was padding along the boardwalks. Granted, once he spotted Vesper he veered onto the sand and headed in his direction ...

"They almost tried to keep me late. You weren't waiting too long --?"

"No, I've been fine." Vesper looked over and leaned back on an arm,

"I don't mind being here so it didn't feel long?" He chuckled, "So how are you doing? How did you manage to get away if they wanted you to stay?"

Trotting over the last few feet and plunking himself onto the sand, Midnight brushed his hair out of the way and leaned back, echoing Vesper.

"Good."

"I finished what they wanted and then pointed out that I worked late all the rest of the week. I don't think they wanted to keep me, after that."

Vesper looked up at the sky, "The night is clear too. You can see a lot."

For a moment Vesper didn't say anything or move. Finally he shuffled a little bit, trying to get closer and holding Midnight's hand a little tighter. He turned his face more against Midnight.

"I haven't seen her in a really long time."

Slipping one arm more firmly around Vesper, Midnight tugged him close. He had a suspicion he knew who the other navi meant, but we wasn't willing to just hazard a guess without being positive.

The silence worried Vesper a little but being held helped keep Vesper calm.

"Last I knew, she was working towards becoming an idol. She looked so beautiful. I'm sure she's happy."
