Blaze was waiting to greet him, and showing a bit of colour of his own, though they eerily matched; a light black jacket trimmed in red and dark slacks, but the shirt beneath was white.

"Come on in -- we're actually out with the roses today. Is that going to be alright?"

Vesper nodded and gave a bright smile.

"That's perfect, actually. Lead the way."

"Good to hear."

Turning briskly, Blaze headed for the greenhouse floor -- where Onyx was already waiting, perched on a low chair and apparently 'talking' with a young blonde gentleman.

There was a grill already going (yay for tradition, warped suitably), and a table set out ... and intermixed with the briarbushes were holly bushes.

Sneaky Blaze.

"Oh!" Vesper blinked at the man Onyx was with.

"Thank you muchly."

The chicken had been basted with -- something, not the usual teriyaki but not bad at all. And, contrary to Blaze's apparent suspicions, there were no accidents involving frisky poultry or other problem food ...

As dinner drew to a close, Blaze chuckled and got up from the table.

"I hope everyone has saved space for dessert."

"Of course. Do you need some help?"

Vesper stood up and without waiting for an answer, began taking some plates.

Blaze was not at all surprised by Vesper's plate-fetching before he could even get a word out. He didn't bother to protest; there was no reason to, really, and dealing with the Christmas cake was more than enough for him at the moment.

Seeing as said cake was a typically huge and perilous confection of sponge-cake, cream and icing and many many many strawberries, having someone else grab the plates was a bonus. Damn thing was tricky to cut --

The table was cleaned off in good time and all the dishes taken care of. Vesper headed over to Blaze to eye what he was doing.

"You really went all out. Looks very good, Blaze."
