[there is that very familiar zapping sound, but Reno seems pretty much unbothered by it. Also he has VERY IMPORTANT THINGS on his mind, gather around and listen.]

Alright. Say you were here a while before and then you left. Then you came back. You'd stick to the age you were were back home and go from there, right? Picking up from where you were ( Read more... )

It's just a number. Does it really matter?

...Your age is whatever your last birthday here was. Your physical age is whatever age your body is.

Knock yourself out.

But what if I was older back home than I was here.

Maybe.

[Guess who finds herself in that same boat?]

I know that I was 14 before I was brought here, and then I went back home after I turned 16.

I don't feel any different from then, or try to think about how old I really am...

Because other than the birthday Ness gave me, I don't even remember when I was born.

[Or "created"...]

[he pauses to think about it a second. And then he actually sounds serious about all this! Golly gee.]

I guess going back complicates the whole thing a lot anyway, huh? I mean, even if you're not sure, it's easy to say "this age seems about right," when everything's on one track. But then you get two timelines going on that don't exactly fit together and start messing everything up.

Probably is better not to think about it. [laughs a little] I dunno, I was just trying to win an argument really.

...Why does it matter in the first place?

nomakothx June 2 2010, 21:16:25 UTC
Because I have a petty feud to win.

...And obviously that's important.

Do you still remember everything from before you left?

Not a thing.

[not even trying to sound honest about this]

{Oh ha. Smartass. Have an exasperated sigh.}

It's difficult, because when it comes right down to it, age is just time and experience. Which... you've had here as well.

I saw a birthday come and go in this place and then went home. Does that really make me one year younger again? I still have the memories, I've changed and grown while I was here, should that really not count because this isn't my world?

As far as I can tell you still age physically. In the end, it's up to you I think. Does your age really matter?
