She does have some anger/control issues. But I still like her better than Strudwick. Because she seemed to genuinely like Tommy back. Alissa, I dunno.

She completely does. I think a lot of it is she doesn't feel like she had much control over HER life.

The way I play her, she and Tommy both had similar motives for dating. She was young and wanted to know what it was like to have a boyfriend; he was not really young but pretending to be and youngsters are supposed to have girlfriends. And genuine care and affection grew from there. Also: August says Alissa verges on vapid bimbo.

She depressed me when writing this. Initially it was supposed to be a "Be nice to August because she'll mess you up" fic. And then all of a sudden she has a dead boyfriend. I have no idea where it came from, but it seemed to fit.

Luckily! All her other relationships have ended pleasantly and she's over it by now, but it is why she isn't a big drinker. Drinking + Cars = BAD.

August likes to think after almost two years with her he'd be smart enough to pick someone who was thoughtful...Granted, I can't think of a single serious conversation Alissa and Tommy ever had on-screen.
