[Haru was doing what he did best, roaming the mansion halls drawing pictures of things anatomically horrifying and listening to loud music. He doesn't notice the sound of the panther but...It's impossible for him to ignore that beautiful black shape and bright eyes.

He goes very pale and looks ready to faint but instead of dropping out quietly he screams and flails about.]

AHHHHH!!!! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU?! ARE YOU REAL?!

[Bagheera heard the Man-cub long before the Man-cub spotted him.

But he was not expecting the reaction he received. The shrieking and flailing like an injured bird nearly made him jump out of his skin.

Fur bristled, he can't help but yell back.]

I AM A PANTHER, AND OF COURSE I AM REAL!

[He sits, shoulders hunched, panting, and staring wide-eyed at the Man-cub.]

[Haru shuts his trap in a hurry and stares quietly in amazement. Of course he's still talking pretty fast when speaks again.]

Wow.You're a REAL panther and YOU TALK...Wait cats can talk?

[And now he's going to start talking to his cat.]

It's just I've never seen a real panther before. My Grandmother was a lynx but it's not like I ever got to see her.

You're really big. It's nice to meet you panther, I'm Haru.

[Bagheera blinks in amazement as the words come tumbling out of the pale Man-cub.]

I am a real Panther, and I am speaking with you. I have only been able to understand one other Man before, but never the rest.

I am honored to be the first Panther you've met. You are the first Man-cub I have met whose grandmother is a lynx. I must admit, however, that I do not know what a lynx is.

It is nice to meet you, Haru the Man-cub. I am Bagheera. You... are not so big.

[Rei is walking along the hall, coming down from the roof with a book and a pencil in her hands. She turns a corner and sees Bagheera from a distance.

She stops walking, but she isn't afraid. More like nonplussed. She watches him for a moment before coming closer.]

[nomansplaything]

[Bagheera spots the girl and freezes himself, bright yellow eyes huge as he eyes her, unsure if she is friend or foe...

As she approaches, his eyes remain intense, but his body relaxes slightly. This female Man-cub seems rather honest in her intentions. There is a very un-Man-like energy about her...]

[Rei stops again several feet from him, then slowly crouches down, knees together, looking at him. She sets her book and pencil on the floor, but otherwise stays in that position silently, watching Bagheera.]

[nomansplaything]

[Bagheera steps toward her, body fluid and eyes calm. He stops just in front of her and sits. They are almost exactly at each other's eye level.

He admires the pale Man-cub's boldness, if anything.]

[Coming out the kitchen, Hajime is now carrying a bottle of water with a small smile on his face. From what? Maybe he just had one amazing bowl of ice cream.

About to head up the stairs, he hears what sounds like a roar emanate from farther down the corridor. He slowly walks toward the sound, and his eyes widen as he sees a large black cat stalking towards him. His free hand goes to the scalpel in his pocket. Who knows if the cat was real or if it would attack him...]

[Bagheera spots the Man and stops, eying him warily with his huge yellow eyes.]

[Okay...this was a little too weird for Hajime. Just why is a large cat wandering the halls of the mansion?]

Is there an event going on?...Or have I completely lost it...?

[nomansplaything]

[The Man's question confuses Bagheera...]

Lost... what?

[Akihiko looks around the hallway upon hearing the cat's roar, a bit confused by the sound and its source. He's just come back from a run around the mansion, and is breathing heavily.]

[nomansplaything]

[Bagheera hears the panting of the Man-cub and smells his sweat before he sees him.

He slows and proceeds cautiously down the hall.

He rounds the corner and finds the Man-cub, who is facing the other direction.

Ffffffff. Bagheera knows he's going to startle him, no matter what he does. He also knows that Man tends to be loud and ridiculous when startled.

He comes to sit perhaps ten feet behind the Man-cub, attempting to project as much calm energy as possible.

Braceing himself, then clears his throat.]

[wings_of_vanth]

[The cat is a great hunter, because Akihiko doesn't even notice it coming up behind him until it makes another noise.

And just as the panther predicted, he startles. He starts to scream...but holds the rest back and breaks into a run. Oh crud. Of all the times to leave his Evoker in his room...

Akihiko is fast, but he's crazy to think he can outrun a wild cat.]

[nomansplaything]

The Man-cub squawks and runs, and before Bagheera realizes it he gives chase. By the time he comes to his senses, he's already within striking distance. Not wanting to waste more time or scare the creature too much more, he decides to end this foolish chase. Claws fully retracted as to not cause harm, he reaches out a paw and trips the Man-cub.]

*Well you're the biggest cat he's ever seen. He totally ignores the roaring, preferring to approach the great big kitty and see what the hell it is.

Oh hai, Bagheera. Have a masked killer all up in your personal space.*

[nomansplaything]

[It's a rare day when a clumsy creature like Man can sneak up on a Leopard. Such a thing has never happened to Bagheera.

He spins around to face Masky, fur bristled, and stares at him with the most intense eyes.

Why does this one smell so... off?]

*He stares at the leopard for a bit, letting out a confused static hiss.*

What are?

[nomansplaything]

[This must be the strangest creature Bagheera has ever seen. It looks somewhat like Man, but it only faintly smells like one. But the sounds and smells of this thing...

And Bagheera is uncomfortable that his fur seems to be filling with static.]
