One Faith

My friend Josh and i were sitting in church yesterday. We got to talking, as there is supposedly an upcoming re-empowering of Christianity. This is an interesting idea, as people have for many years struggled to define what Christianity is. Now, bouncing around in my head has been a certain song by John Michael Talbot. He's a monk/worshipper who ( Read more... )

Actually, He's not really my life. He's an essential part of my life, and a constant companion. But to say my life is God would be a fallacy. First thing, I have a job, family, and friends. We just don't see each other much and daily nothing really goes on in my life. Day to day life is boring, and not really worth posting. I use my livejournal as a personal forum to post things I've learned that I hope people would take time to consider, its not godly. Most of my posts are insights into the nature of life and how things interact. I personally consider these things in great detail, as my meditations show. I'm not a particularly spacy spiritual person, but to deny the spiritual aspect of my life would be overlooking a major component. I post it here because life is boring, and no one wants an update on how much money I made @ Pizza Hut tonight (51 dolalrs for anyone who cares). I write important things in here, things that I'd like to be left up for others to read.
Now, to whom do U have the pleasure of speaking?

See, what we have here is a massmisscommunication. God is a seperate being from us. To say that He is part of is in the sense that two people in love are a part of one another. The mystical union between Christ and His church (which is the entire body of those who put faith in Him ) is the same as the spiritual bond between two married people in the covenant of marraige. (See Ephesians 5, Revelation 19) God is a seperate personal entity with a Will of His own and actions apart from you. This doesn't mean that we are irresponsible for our actions, rather exactly the opposite, biblical Christianity believes in a final judgement. We are held accountable for all our actions, but it is with Holy Spirit within (formed by a union at baptism) us that allows us to look outside ourselves and see the world as God does. Nowhere did I say the church should be between you and God, so for you to continue with that arguement is stupid ( ... )

Oh, I agree about the miracles part, but not for the reasons you would assume. I personally have worked a miracle or two, performed a healing or so, and I speak in tongues when I wish to. These are not abilities that i possess, they are like my entire faith, on loan to me from God. As to my views about your own salvation, i told you how to be assured of such a salvation, but in the end the choice to respond to God's call is your own. I merely present the facts, it is in fact your choices (which your are entirely responsible for)that determine your status with God. Jesus didn't save everyone, He saved everyone who would trust in His death and ressurrection. Big difference. Those who come and trust in that will be saved. Those who don't after hearing Truth, well, their blood is upon their own hands. My job is simply to state the facts, not debate religious ideas. I am not into religion, I'm much more worried about God ( ... )
