I tried to watch Grey Gardens this weekend, but was bored to tears. Is it just me? Did I miss something? I'd heard such good things about it. I could possibly try again, but I watched the first half hour and bailed. I followed it up with Shortbus which depressed the hell outta me. Could've been my general mood that night, but stories and characters

oh my gosh, i tried to watch shortbus this weekend with the dude i just started dating. we made it about seven minutes into the movie before i realized that, had i blushed anymore, i would have simply combusted. i turned it off and put it away forever.

so it actually ended up being not as embarrassing?

oh no, it was embarassing, but not when you're alone. I mean, that is NOT a movie to watch with a new love interest. Good choice to turn it off. You would've most definitely combusted.
