the calm before the storm

So I basically do not know what to post.

My mind is going a mile a minute with Arthur/Eames Inception business, especially now i'm rping Eames, and especially especially because Tom Hardy is totally in touch with himself.

But asked if he'd ever had any sexual relations with other men, the broody actor said: "As a boy? Of course I have. I'm an ( Read more... )

Give aletheia08 a squish from me. ♥

I know what you mean about cons becoming like popularity/insane contests between people. Fortunately I haven't had that experience yet because I haven't gone to cons with talks and seeing the same people over and over, but I will in November and February. But I've heard about people who constantly want the guests attention, particularly with Amanda Tapping is billed. I know you said they'll remain nameless but I think I have an inkling as to who you mean, well one person anyway.

WOAH GURRRLLL YOU PSYCHIC.

Yeah, the particular person who I mean is blatantly obvious. Ugh. And i'm not a tolerant person when it comes to bullshit - i'm a freaking Political Science kid. We're not known for being patient with weirdness.

Yeah it was bad enough at Wolf Haven One when there were the select few desperate for attention, but it was only like one or two. THIS TIME... Amanda's presence will whip the masses into a frenzy of one-upmanship and awkward attention grabbing weirdness.

DO. NOT. WANT.

Particular people make me want to gag. Seriously. YO I KNOW I'M A BITCH.

There definitely are a select few that are desperate for attention and as a result your time and opportunities to speak to them too is dramatically lessened because they grab their attention. You have to feel so embarrassed and sorry for the guests because they're there to have fun with the fans and meet as many as possible and have a bit of craic with them. Not be treated like Robert Pattinson or someone else that's you know, a tween god.

I've heard stories of one person who is AWFUL when around Amanda Tapping, like AWFUL for attention grabbing. DO.NOT.WANT.FOR.QUEEN-T!!! These attention seeking people are people that I DO.NOT.WANT.DO.NOOOOT.WANT around Robert Lawrenson or Agam Darshi considering that TSE will be their first convention experience. I hate that those kind of people will be around them with sane people i.e. me, won't be.

Yo, I HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE that these people got to go to the Meet & Greet event tonight, which I didn't book early enough to get a ticket for because I thought i'd be in like... Japan teaching english right now.

And I know precisely which person you mean. PRECISELY. And I saw her today with all her awful little livejournal minions, and I almost threw up in my mouth.

SAW ROB AND AGAM.

And then I saw Amanda and Chris. Kissing.

NO WORD OF A LIE.

The main thing I love about Tom Hardy is just how nonchalant he is over experimenting with the same sex. He's like, "Yes, I slept with guys when I was younger. So what?" I admire him so freaking much for that, and I only wish more celebs were confident enough to do the same. ♥

AND LOL. I know what you mean about "popularity contests" during cons. Personally, I find it amusing to see these fanboys/fangirls acting like a bunch of insufferable idiots, all the while I get warm smiles and a bit of chitchat from the celebs simply because I greet them with a smile, a handshake, and a little bit of southern charm.

See, in my five year experience of Cons, all i've ever received is either a) harried looking paranoia that i'm ONE OF THEM or b) about 4 seconds of their time because the crazies drag them away within milliseconds of me beginning to have a normal conversation with them.

UGH.

I hate those popularity contests. I'm always thinking "WHAT are they trying to freaking accomplish?"

And it makes it all horribly awkward for the Normal People in attendance, what precious few of us there are :( :(

I feel tarred with the crazy brush!
