I had a paper due in my Dante class. Typical situation: you write a rough draft, get it corrected and peer-edited and then turn in a final draft. My peer editor happened to also work as a real editor (lucky me), so I got a lot of good criticism, and my girlfriend happens to have an english degree

If so take them your rough draft and final copy. Ask them if they wouldnt mind looking it over for you and comparing the two. Get their feedback, preferably some sort of grade. Then if the guy says its crap, take it to the head of the dept with the conflicting grades, and boom, you get your A.
