Thats right! 10000 signatures is not all that far away. As of a few moments ago we have 9481 signatures on our online petition. The good news is that there are also over 100 more names on a paper copy of the petition that was taken to the streets of the West End just recently by two very innovative fans.
They plan on going back again in a week or two so no doublt will have more. One of the ladies involved has been tweeting and chatting to Lee Knight who plays Conrade in Much Ado About Nothing. Between them they have also managed to get flyers mentioning the petition put up in the changing rooms of the theatre and other places. An army of people are still keeping the petition fresh in everyones minds by blogging, tweeting, and word of mouth.
The producers are aware of the petition. Another email was sent to them only just last week by the original poster of the petition to give them an update of our progress. Unfortunately no matter how many names we collect the ultimate decision will be theirs but hopefully we can continue to give them some food for thought.
We would like to hear from everybody about your thoughts on where we should go once we reach 10000 signatures. Do we keep going till the end of the run? Quite frankly it's the first time I or the original poster of the petition have ever been involved in something like this so we really want to hear your ideas. Please feel free to post in the comments section or send me a private message.
In the meantime please help us continue to get the word out there about the petition in any way you can.
