so i made the phone call to the federal aid hotline about 20 minutes ago, and let me tell you that was a waste of effort and time. i didnt get a direct answer to any of my questions. i asked if the money was still mine since i transfered schools, and how i go about getting my paws on it? i was told i need to correct my address on my application, ( Read more... )

that's the best idea-your school has contacts that deal with their specific issues in regards to finanial aide at the federal levels Let them do the leg work!

Financial aid is perpetually an overly complicated process; talking to your school directly is normally a good thing, since they've the most interest in themselves and you. Also remember too that there is always a chance there is information that they outright don't know, or have forgotten to tell you about (a friend of mine didn't receive financial aid for the longest time as her mother's income was too high, but they neglected to tell her until it was too late that she could have contested the issue and explained her situation more thoroughly than the initial form would allow).

Good luck with that financial aid... you definately deserve it and you sure as hell earned it. Pretty fucked up how everyone in the government gets their damn hands in the process and ironically make the system not do what it was intended due to paperwork! Fuckers......
