Feeling a fraud

All the signs are definitely saying I'm pregnant. We haven't done a test for a while but there's been no sign of a period, or, these days, of much of a premenstrual symptom. I've been getting days in which I only manage a few hours of functional waking time before needing to nap, and nap some more, and over the last few weeks I've been getting more ( Read more... )

It will happen. when you've had a long ttc journey, it can take a lot longer to feel pregnant. feeling the baby kick will help a lot. and also when your uterus expands... but there were times when I could feel the baby moving in my HUGE belly and I'd still feel like it was all makebelieve. It's OK to feel that way. It really is. Work on reconnecting when you have those moments, but don't beat yourself up about having them!

I understand after so much pain it is hard not to be guarded, but it sounds like you are slowly allowing yourself to feel it. It will happen in time. As your womb begins to grow there will be no denying it and when you first feel it move, it will really fell real.

I have had quite a few friends that felt that they really couldn't connect with the pregnancy until after their first trimester was done. They tried and tried but eventually it just happened.

It will happen. Be gentle on yourself and maybe just breathe.

And you know, it's alright. I mean, there are loads of women who wouldn't really know they were pregnant until maybe a couple of periods were missed. Certainly a friend of mine didn't test until she was over 3 months because she had some spotting that she mistook for a period. My point being, that the baby grew and thrived and did all it's stuff without her being aware of it at all. What I'm trying to say is that there's no right or wrong in this and things happen at their own time. If you look on fertility friends, in the 2ww diary section, there's a woman in the IVF bit who was talking about the same thing. It wasn't until she had a scan where she could actually see the little one move that she felt connected with it.

Hehehe, I'm on Fertility Friends all the time. :) I think I know the woman you're talking about too.

Thank you.
