This pregnancy is really ticking along. Our midwife has said that, depending on other health factors she'd probably be willing to consider me full term from 36 weeks. That's just over 4 weeks away. Although I have no expectation of having this baby early the thought that it could be so soon feels strange. Exciting and terrifiying. I was born at 36 ( Read more... )

Just out of interest, do you mind me asking how you found this journal? I'm not used to people I know (however slightly) IRL finding me here - not that its a problem. I'm just curious.

It'll make you laugh - I found this journal through the lesbian TTC community, spent an afternoon reading back through some of your posts and kept thinking 'oh I should point [you] at this, you have similar experiences', I only figured out that it was you later! I'd added you by that point and so hoped it would be okay to keep reading (if you'd rather I didn't or if you want to keep it not irl friends then do say)...

Oh no, you're very welcome. :) It feels much less important to keep this journal separate now that we've actually conceived and the wider world knows about it. Please do stay.

If your reading of the lesbian TTC community was for personal reasons and you'd like suggestions of other online places that have been extremely useful to us then do feel free to ask. I wouldn't want to jump to conclusions though.

Wow. That 'term' point must feel strange. I know the fact that it's getting close is strange enough.

I've really enjoyed having someone to mirror this experience off online, even though you've been a good chunk ahead of us. I'm so looking forward to hearing about your birth and to learning who your little one is. What are your birth plans?

Hehehe, at home, in water, using hypnotherapy - I teach Natal Hypnotherapy as part of my job. The midwife we have I've been at births with before too, so she's also a friend/colleague and I trust her absolutely.
