My Sony Vaio desktop inexplicably died yesterday. Dire warnings from Fo rang through my mind, haunting my dreams! Oof. I just got a new laptop, so my head's still full of this kinda stuff. What d'you mean by gaming laptops? Get laptops with good specs and you should be fine. I'm told that the Alienware laptops are hardcore gamer laptops, but they're also sodding expensive. Otherwise just get enough RAM and a good graphics card (min 256MB, if you're really into gaming) and you should be fine.

FTR I got an HP, which are pretty good and have good service/help thingies.
