...what have I done? The damage...it's. It's not irreparable, but...

Could it have known? It seems stupid to think so, but it's not impossible, I suppose.

...weeks worth of work. What am I going to do? I don't have time for this!

What happened? Something because of the virus?

...yes. I...hm.

It seems that I attempted to change the program.

...Uh-oh. Into, um, what?

...I don't know. It looks like the beginnings of some kind of multi-dimensional database converter. I mean, with something like this, you could try and convert all the systems connected to the community into slave machines to power a form of supercomputer that would exceed anything I've seen...it would be beyond quantum, it would be...

...well, for one thing, it would be horrifically unstable. A monstrosity. The time-space continuum would probably collapse under its power requirements.

Oh dear. It seems you've got quite a problem on your hands. What happened, exactly?

I appear to have mutilated the security program I was working on.

Because of the virus? That's a shame. Is it permanently damaged?

It is not permanently damaged, but the vandalism will take weeks to repair.

Shut up. You don't even know me.

I know you're a pretentious asshole when you want to be.

Post-virus troubles?

nonesodangerous May 30 2008, 15:17:40 UTC
...you could say that.

Mmm. I take it you hacked your own computer program? How bad's the damage?

Reply

nonesodangerous May 31 2008, 10:26:41 UTC
Hacked would imply I had some difficulty getting into it. It seems I just started changing the program into something more...suitable to my personality at the time.

The damage is fairly serious. It's not so much a matter of the weeks worth of work that needs to be repaired, but the fact that the program as it stands is extremely dangerous. If any of it remained hidden in the fixed program as a system trap, the effects would be devastating. I'm going to have to check each and every tiny piece of code.

Let me guess: something happened as a result of the virus.

nonesodangerous June 3 2008, 00:53:11 UTC
It most certainly did.

I'm not surprised. Many odd things happened as a result of this particular virus.

Indeed. And not only is my program now a monstrosity, but it seems Setsuna has taken offense to my actions while under the influence of the virus.
