Besides the fact that he sucks and his writing (if Ender's Game is any indication) has a heavy conservative and Mormon bias?

Well, nothing, I suppose.

(Of course, I also liked A Canticle for Leibowitz, which is about as religious as an SF novel can get without being one of L. Ron Hubbard's crapathons.)
