This is so sweet! I love the sort-of resolution for the two of them. They've both grown up. Some.

Thanks. Xander will never really ever grow up. Or stop flinging somewhat veiled insults Angel's way. I'd love to see how the writers would stage a meeting between the two now.

Oh my god. I LOVE it. It is nowhere near what I imagined it as, and that just makes it a million times better. This is the perfect topic of conversation for them, so well handled, just...yeah. A fabulous character piece.

It's the little touches that get me:

“I’m buying.” Angel started toward the door.

“And I’m eating,” Xander followed with a smile.

“If someone had told me five years ago that one day I’d be sitting in a ratty little diner having dinner with you, I would have called them a liar and hit them. And then possibly run away, depending on how big they were.

Great Xander!

Thank you so much sweetie!

Yay! I'm glad you like it! It scared me at first because Angel and Xander? Not my two favorite characters. Pretty far down on the likeable character list.

Now I'm wondering what you imagined it as. ;)

Oh, mine was pure evil. The idea started during my brief parody heyday. It was supposed to be Xander and Angel, post-S6/S3, talking about Buffy, Spike, and Cordy while stuffing their faces. Many "puffy" jokes would have ensued. Then, bloated on peaches and pork chops, they'd stumble out of Denny's and Xander would accidentally dust Angel with his toothpick. Good times.

As it is, yours makes sense, and is beautifully done.

Man, if I had known you were looking for a parody, I could have easily provided. But I guess as long as you like it, that's all that matters. It was all for you, baby.

Oh, I really love this! You've got both of the characters DOWN. And with lines like this:

“If this is some kind of gross out tactic to make me lose my appetite, it’s not going to work. I spent enough time around Spike and Anya that nothing can faze me. I don’t care how much blood you pour into your cereal or how much moldy cheese you put on your ice cream, I can take it.”

HEE. I'm still cracking up. What a fabulous look at these two in a way we've never had the chance to see...

Thanks. But really, this is something I never would have written without having been given the idea, so bit is really a lot of responsible for this. And sally for the challenge in the first place.

Oh, ng, this is great! You write a fantastic Xander, with just his level of quips, and verbal wit without him throwing out overt jokes. And talking with his mouth full!! It's perfect.

I also really like the melancholy note this ended on, and the maturity that rings through. Nice work.

Aw, thanks. This is the first time I've written Xander in more than a drabbleish way, so it was something I wasn't sure I could do. So I really appreciate your comments.

Yeah, Xander is HARD to write. Deceptively hard. So when it's done well (as you have here) it's even more of an accomplishment.

He really is hard. Trying to find a balance of witty without going overboard and making him spit out a joke every second. I was afraid I'd gone too far and made him too much of a caricature of Xander, but I guess not.

Oh, I love this, ng. Your Xander voice is pitch perfect - great mix of funny with a bit of bittersweet with the Anya stuff. I can totally picture something like this happening. Great job:)

Thanks. It was kind of hard for me because Angel and Xander have never been my favorite characters, so I wasn't entirely sure if I had any of the voicing right.
