A short story: Waltz
By: Tina

‘Whoever she was, she always asked me to dance the waltz with her.’

-o-o-o-o-o-

A young man, around the age of 17 years old, slowly opened his eyes. He blinked a few times and looked at his surroundings. He stifled a yawn and stood up. It was study time and he was bored. He walked out of the library and made his way to the classroom.

As he walked through the hallway, he stopped at a certain classroom. ‘Is that music I hear?’ he thought to himself, looking at the door. He slowly opened it and saw a girl dancing the waltz. Alone. As she turned around, she saw him looking at her and stopped immediately.

“How embarrassing!” she said, covering her face with her hands, “You saw me dancing without a partner!” she added, walking towards him with a smile.

“Don’t you have anyone who will dance with you?” he asked, eyeing her with curiosity.
