As someone else has shown above why it won't work: it just offsets the day you buy it, not really doing anything about a change in consumption. Its ineffective. You want to stick it to gas companies, buy fuel efficient cars, carpool, and just stop using as much. If you really wanted to stick it to them, you'd just stop buying gas every day.

could work on a source that produces oil and removes it from oil companies to the people.

Hey, I heard about it tonight when I was out to eat with some friends. I was on empty (gas light on), so I went ahead and bought gas tonight so I wouldn't have to buy it tomorrow. I think it'll do something, but not much. I think it might be a little finger prick for the gas companies to let them know that we do see what's going on and that we have the potential to do something about it if the prices go up any more. We'll see in a few days I guess. I'm hoping they'll issue a statement about the results or something.

Btw, can you come work on my car please? I'm lucky to get 13 miles per gallon. Seriously.

Hrmn, 95 Isuzu Rodeo.

Hehe, what are the prospects on a Land Rover Discovery? I've been saving up and hopefully I'll be selling my Rodeo and buying a used Discovery this summer. Yeah, they get like 11 mpg. Oh well. Fuck the environment.

SUVs are hard to do because of their weight and body style. Theres nothing huge that you can really do to help, but a bunch of little things really add up.
First off, get an cone based air filter. Have it set as a cold intake if you know how. Keep heavy things out of the vechicle. The more weight, the more gas it uses. Lowering the vehicle actually help, and so do some practical body kits.
Biggest thing you can do is improve your driving style.
Only accelerate going down hills. Don't use cruise control over hilly areas. Jump into overdrive ASAP. Keep it out of 4X4. Practice pacing stop lights so you never have to fully stop.
Do all that and you can actually get a lot more milage out of the Rodeo.
Never worked on a Discovery before, but I asume the same stuff works.

Lemme know if you actually want me to do anything on it for you. =)
