In an attempt to bring more fire element into my life, I've been keeping eye out for "stuff", and yesterday found
this cup soaking up the sun at a yard sale. I was happy to pay a dollar for it, took it home, cleansed it, then set it in the sun to charge it. (Sun seemed more appropriate than moon for this.)
Then I took it inside and dried it, moved it around from the counter to the middle of the stove, left it there a bit and tried putting it on my altar. I thought it would look nice on the teak dresser, where I have the altar set up. It looks ok...but it didn't seem "right". (I think it's worth mentioning here that of the apartment rooms, my bedroom where the altar is, gets the least natural light.)
I left it there overnight, and this morning, still had the sense that it didn't want to be there and put it back where it seemed happiest.
Which, so help me, is smack in the middle of my stovetop.
Amusing, but rather impractical.
It makes sense, from an elemental point of view; the stove probably has the most fire (certainly not my bedroom these days, LOL!) of any spot in the apartment. But two things: One, I've never had this reaction to any object - that it wanted to be somewhere ELSE. And two, as I said...it's not very practical to leave it there long term.
Any thoughts or suggestions? I'll add that my kitchen is tiny; much as I'd love to, I can't really dedicate (permanent) space there to a fire altar.
