We can't say, of course, because we don't know the situation. Some people are unsettling, that's true.

(I mean, I was always one of those arguing for status on the basis of merit/ability, but that's an interesting diversion into managment theory that I won't bore you with this afternoon...)

If they make you uncomfortable, that's all the explanation you need. Avoid.

You don't have to give a big speech or be cruel about it. Just don't become best buddies with this person. There's something to be said for gut instinct.

Some people instantly come across to me as being slightly unhinged. Even some fairly normal looking people. I'll actively avoid them on the street. Its like they shouldn't be let out without a leash. Okay, maybe I'm paranoid too. ;)

It's not paranoia if they're *really* after you. I know what you mean though. It's like walking past a dog on the street - you think, it'd be nice to pat it, but I think I might just let it be...

Well if they're *really* after you, you might as well gun them down before they have a chance to kill you, a la George Bush. ;)
