So, this weekend was the start of a heatwave here in Portland. bloomerwedgies had the bright idea to get out of town and head to the beach for a few days. I agreed that this was a brilliant idea, so I made some arrangements on Friday and we were off and on our way by noon on Saturday.

I think the captain of the Peter Iredale ran his own ship aground out of frustration regarding the misprinted map that was supposed to lead him to the site of his own shipwreck. But then, he had to watch out--locals don't have to look back, you betcha.
