Awww, sweet. But then it must be different for boys. Girls have menstruation as a marker that yes, they've entered a new stage in life.

Oh! I love this. It is so sweet and tender, and respectful. As a woman who was once a girl, I was too wrapped up in my own pubescent woes to be aware of my male peers' issues, much less care about them. This, on a personal level, is a gentle reminder that it wasn't all about me. What a wonderful, loving anecdote.

I never thought about that- girls have their periods start and that tells you where you are, but it's much more subtle for guys.
