Truthplot or Dare [Dated to June 10/11]

May 25, 2011 00:41

It's a fuckin' brilliant idea, it is.

It's not as if Chris has been planning it for long at all; it's just an idea he's come up with. Of course, the last time he went camping with his mates, Michelle's sister's car had ended up in the sea and Maxxie's stalker had shown up and had been shagging Anwar. Mostly, Chris had just been happy someone had ( Read more... )

Olive doesn't know Marshall except at a distance, secondhand. In fact, he's just about the only person here she doesn't know (although she's aware the kid can cook, which is seriously all she's got), which makes him her number one candidate for filling Claire's dare. In fact, it's deciding which Disney villain to impersonate that takes real doing, but in the end, in her heart of hearts, her favorite has to be Ursula. That was a sea witch who understood the meaning of the words if you've got it, flaunt it (something Olive herself is, really, only beginning to learn in the last year or so).

The main thing, she thinks, is the sashay - body language - as she makes her way over to Marshall, drawing out the words so she's half-speaking, half-singing as she launches into the song Claire dictated. "I'm too sexy for my shirt," she declares, "too sexy for my shirt, so sexy it hurts."

Hardly the awesome musical number I once hoped for, but hey, we work with what we're givenShe only half-remembers the words, out of order she's pretty sure, but ( ... )

He watched the whole show with a relatively straight face, his eyes wide and his eyebrows creeping up toward his hairline. Of all the ways to be greeted by a stranger... actually, he could think of more bizarre scenarios, but it was probably best if he didn't.

He had to admit, the fact that he was putting so much into it was kind of charming.

"Wow," he said, when she was finished, one corner of his mouth twitching. "That was... impressive."

"Thank you," Olive said, huffing out a laugh. "You can thank Claire back there for that. I'm Olive, by the way, it's nice to meet you." It was one of the stranger first encounters she'd had, but, given the context, she knew she had met people in far stranger ways. Actually, it seemed sort of appropriate in this crowd.

"Hey, Olive. I'm Marshall," he said with a mockingly cheerful little wave, "I'll have to send Claire a thank you note or something. I mean, it was a pretty good show, but I feel like flowers might be going overboard."

"Yeah, no, definitely stop at the note," Olive said with a nod, "and way before chocolates. Floral stationery, maybe, but no flowers." She plopped down beside him, giving Claire a quick wave across the way - her turn was coming. In the meanwhile, though, she figured she may as well familiarize herself with the one total stranger present. "So truth or dare, then, Marshall?"

"This time, I think I'm going to have to pick truth," he said, and even though it wasn't about chickening out, it did feel nice knowing that, this time, he probably wouldn't have to flash his ass in front of a group that included at least four complete strangers.

Olive tipped her head to the side, considering this. There were a lot of ways to go with truth, a lot of options there - fewer because he was a stranger, but still, it presented a nice way to get to know someone. "Alright," she said. "If you could... go home tonight, right now - not, like, a hut or the Compound, but home, and you could bring three people with you, who would they be?"
