So poorcopies AKA Miss Rebecca tagged me to write about 6 things from the list of interests on my user info.
Sharks
I have been completely obsessed with sharks since I was about 5. I watched Jaws (yeah I know I shouldn't have watched it at that age, but oh well) and I think I had the complete opposite reaction to most of the world. Instead of being scared, I was instantly fascinated by them. I was also pretty damn sad when they killed the shark at the end. I remember asking my mum if people could keep sharks as pets. She got me a goldfish instead. Not really the same thing but hey, it swam!
So yeah, for the last 26 years I've been pretty crazy about them. Even my first tattoo was of a shark. My dream is to cage dive with Great Whites in Australia with a guy called Rodney Fox (seriously, Google him. He was attacked by a shark years ago and now takes people out to cage dive with them. He invented the shark cage too!) and his son. One day...
Dave Gorman
In my opinion Dave Gorman is a genius. He is brilliant, funny and clearly one of the biggest geeks known to mankind. I just love him.
I first saw Dave Gorman when he did his "Are You Dave Gorman" show. If you haven't seen it, a) I think you should and b)Dave Gorman travels all over the place to meet as many people as he can with the same name. Might not sound all that funny, but it really is.
Since then, he's done other shows about Googlewhacks, following the advice for his star sign for a month, driving across America without giving any money to large petrol chains and most recently, his tv show Genius. If you're not already in love with Dave Gorman, I would suggest giving his stuff a go. I don't think you'll be sorry.
Touring
I've been going to gigs since I was about 9 or 10 *cough* Jason Donovan (Don't judge me!) and I guess I've been touring properly since I was about 15. I've followed many bands across many countries and loved (and hated) every minute.
For me, even though of course it's about the band I'm going to see... Mostly it becomes about spending time with the people I love. The people who are dotted all over the country. The people who have grown from other fans I met on tour into the people who are my family.
For the last few years, the only band I tour with is My Chem (as I'm sure you all know) and honestly, I wouldn't change that for the world. I get to see the band who mean the most to me with some of the people who mean the most to me.
Last My Chem tour was one of the best times of my life. Having the bus took away so much stress and I have some of the best memories (and pics) from it. From AMA (Access My Area)to Gerbs and Epic Fails... It was made of win.
Ridic Helmet
So this one is a bit silly. My friend Nick has a moped. I am scared of them because I came off a motorbike when I was younger. Nick said he'd take me out on the back of his. As it turns out, once I put on the crash helmet, I look like a sodding hamster! I think the pic says it all.
We have worked out though, that if we sing when we're on the bike together, I'm not so scared. The song of the moment is Beyonce's Single Ladies (complete with hand movements)
Horror
I like to be scared by films. Not many of them manage to scare me anymore. I think the only real terror I've carried with me is Michael Myers from the Halloween films. He used to scare the crap out of me. There's not much I won't watch. If it's billed as being scary, I'll give it a go. There's nothing like turning off the lights, getting under a duvet and jumping out of your skin when the nutter with the knife/gun/super human strength* (delete as appropriate) jumps out of nowhere.
Bloopers
I love a good gag reel. Watching people get their words wrong or fall over has always made me laugh. They can come from a tv show or film that I love or my all time favourite, live tv bloopers. I love it when something goes wrong and there's nothing that can be done about it. If someone gets hurt, (obviously not seriously) all the better. Maybe that makes me a bad person, but you know what... When I fall down, people laugh (including me) so I get to laugh at other poor people who do the same thing.
